Finer Details
The 2025 growing season in Sonoma County started from a good place after another generous winter with plentiful rainfall. Vines came out of their winter dormancy a little earlier than normal, with bud break occurring around the first week of March. Overall, the growing season was cool and steady with a particularly cool month of July. Our vineyard crews spent extra time diligently managing the canopies to ensure adequate airflow and a balanced crop. The mild season allowed for slow and even ripening at lower sugar levels. The wines from the vintage are defined by fresh acidity and great varietal depth. Kick Ranch is in the Fountaingrove District located at the foot of the western slope of the Mayacamas Mountain Range. The gentle sloping vineyard is planted to Rhône and Bordeaux varietals. The vineyard’s rocky Sonoma volcanic soils combined with cooling influences from the Russian River Valley and Petaluma Gap produce wonderfully complex wines.
