2024 Rosé of Grenache Magnum

The 2020 Flying By the Seat of Our Pants - Kick Ranch Rosé of Grenache continues in its line of elegant rosés. The wine has a crisp nose, showing notes of white flower blossoms, peach, and cantaloupe. On the palate, the wine’s acidity is bright and forward with flavors of guava and ruby red grapefruit. The finish is lasting and fresh, or as our winemaker, Cary Gott likes to say, “Yummy!”

The hand-picked Grenache grown for rosé was carefully night harvested when the fruit reached maturity, offering distinct varietal flavors while maintaining wonderful acidity. The grapes were delivered to Punchdown Cellars on the morning of September 8, 2020.

They were whole-cluster pressed until the perfect color and flavor were achieved. The Grenache juice settled for 2 days in a chilled stainless-steel tank and then went through a cool fermentation. After fermentation was complete, the young wine was transferred to 75-gallon stainless-steel barrels where it aged sur lie for 4 months. The Rosé was filtered and then bottled on January 19, 2021.
