2022 Pinot Noir

The 2022 growing season packed a few surprises with early frost and an abbreviated winter contributing to lower yields across Sonoma County. A Labor Day heat wave and September showers condensed the window of harvest by a few weeks. Overall, the quality of the fruit was extremely high across both estate vineyards, as lower yields resulted in concentrated flavors and even phenolic ripeness across blocks. The 2022 vintage promises many age-worthy wines. Bricoleur Vineyard’s Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is comprised of estate fruit and carefully selected Pinot Noir sites in the Russian River Valley.

Bricoleur Vineyard’s 2022 Russian River Valley was carefully handpicked and 10% of the grapes were added whole cluster and the rest destemmed into an open-top fermenting tank where they cold soaked for three days before being brought up to temperature for fermentation. Punchdowns were performed twice daily during fermentation to help with color, flavor, and gentle phenolic extraction. The wine aged sur lie for 10 months.
