2022 Founder's Block Pinot Noir

The 2022 Founder’s Block Pinot Noir is the second release from Bricoleur Vineyards. The wine delivers with alluring aromas of bright red fruits and subtle spice. The palate bursts with flavors of bing cherries that are complemented by layers of woven tannins and nuanced oak.

The 2022 growing season was a harmonious one and promises to be a great vintage for winemaking in Sonoma County. The season got off to an early start and a mild summer resulted in wonderful fruit across the county. Ideal temperatures right up to harvest resulted in varieties ripening at similar times, making for a quick and fast-paced harvest. Great flavor development and acid preservation resulted in extremely balanced wines we can’t wait to share. Bricoleur Vineyard’s Pinot Noir is grown on the estate in the Russian River Valley. The Pinot Noir is meticulously farmed and consistently yields perfectly balanced fruit.

Bricoleur Vineyard’s 2022 Founder’s Block Pinot Noir was carefully handpicked and arrived at Punchdown Cellars the morning of August 24th. 30% of the grapes were added whole cluster and the rest destemmed into an open-top fermenting tank where they cold soaked for three days before being brought up to temperature for fermentation. Punchdowns were performed twice daily during fermentation to help with color, flavor, and gentle phenolic extraction. The wine aged sur lie for 9 months.
